Lord, save me!

Matthew 14:28-33
Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Lord,
save me!
I'm drowding
in fear,
in dispair,
in hopelessness,
overwhelmed,
alone,
tired,
hurting.
"Lord,
save me!"

And you do.
Every time
Every time I cry out,
Lord Jesus,
You reach out to me.
You send someone to me.
You help me.
You hold me.
You pull me back into the boat.

Jesus,
help me recognize
your presence
in the voice of another,
in the offer of help,
in the phone call,
in the rest,
in the embrace of family and friends,
in all the ways you reach out
to bring me back
safe with you
in the boat.

Truly,
You ARE
the Son of God!
And I worship you.
Amen.
