Thank you for going ahead of us

Preparing a place
It is humbling to know
that the goal of your preparations
the reason for all of your hard work
is so that we can be with you.
You are a "with-you" kind of God.
Lo, I am with you always. (Matthew 28)
He shall be called, Emmanuel, which means God with us. (Luke 2 & Isaiah)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1)
All your preparations remind me
of the work that goes into getting ready
to host someone at my home...
I work to make them feel
welcome, at ease, cared for and cared about...
You do the same for me, for us, every day.
