I ask for your prayers for the students and leaders while they discover anew the power of God's transforming love. These thoughts are from the Middle School conference today...
Verse:
Revelation 3:20
“Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.”
Reflect:
Notice the verbs in the verse that describe part of the faithful response to Jesus’ knocking:
listen,
hear,
open,
eat.
Besides these actions, what other things do we do that demonstrate our faith?
This verse emphasizes Jesus with us and us with Jesus, i.e., our relationship with God through Christ.
How has your relationship with God—your faith—been strengthened this week?
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.
