Lord,
Someone prayed for me today.
Before he left my presence,
he prayed with me;
he prayed for me.
I was humbled.
I was moved.
I felt myself release
some of the tension,
some of the burdens.
I leaned a little deeper
into my dependence on you, Lord.
Each time I am prayed for,
I am so moved with gratitude.
I am thankful for the thoughtfulness
and love expressed in prayer.
I'm reminded of a song
I first heard at Second Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown, NC.
"Somebody prayed for me,
had me on their mind,
took the time to pray for me.
I’m so glad they prayed,
I’m so glad they prayed,
I’m so glad they prayed for me."
--written by Dorothy Norwood and Alvin Darling
Thank you, Lord, for the prayers
that others have prayed.
Amen
