Lost and Found

WORD
Luke 15:1:7
Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him. And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
So he told them this parable: “Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
REFLECT
An empty feeling. A little nervous. A little scared. The realization that I have NO IDEA WHERE I AM!! I am LOST. Lost. Thank God for GPS. I quickly type in where I wanted to go. GPS gave me a way out. My young son used to call that machine on my dashboard, “G-P-S-U-S”. It saves you when you are lost! Jesus is the same way. When we have lost our way, when we have no idea where we are and how we got here, J-E-S-U-S is with us giving us direction and getting back on the path of God’s love.

SHARE
Remember a time when you were lost. Remember how it felt.

Who found you?

Share how it felt to be found.

PRAYER
Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I am found
Once was blind
But now I see!
Amen.
