During Lent 2022, the congregation I pastor will be engaging in conversations around our past, present, and future. Together we are seeking to discern God's future for us.
I have written this Lenten Devotional to guide examination and reflection on your life and faith as well as the life and witness of our congregation.
Each day will have a prayer for
discernment, a scripture reading, and questions for reflection.

Prayer for Week 1
Our Lord and our God, now as we read the
scriptures and reflect on your Word, fill us with your Spirit. Soften our
hearts that we may delight in your presence. Sharpen our minds that we may discern
your truth. Shape our wills that we may desire your ways. Through Jesus Christ,
our Lord. Amen.
Isaiah
43:1-4
But now thus says the Lord, he who created
you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed
you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when
you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume
you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give
Egypt as our ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are
precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you, I give people in return for
you, nations in exchange for your life.”
How
does God see you?
How
would you live if you truly accept that you are loved by God?
What
things seem overwhelming to you?
Think
of a time when God was with you in difficulty, how did you feel?
